It took 41 weeks and 5 days, but at 5:49pm on August 5th Jordi Ponnusamy was born. For those keeping score: 8 pounds 9 ounces spread across 21 inches.
After a couple days and sleepless nights filled with contractions, we arrived at Puget Sound Birth Center at 1pm yesterday and were back home with Jordi precisely four hours after his birth. Amazing.
First, we'll say that the Eastside Midwives team at PSBC were amazing—can't recommend them enough. Second, Penny Simkin's birthing classes were invaluable. Lastly, I'll shout out Lillie. She popped a couple Advil when it was all said and done, but that's it. Super proud of her for going the all natural route. It was quite an experience to be a part of.
We'll be spending the next few weeks hanging out as a family. And in two weekends, it's Jordi's first vacation—we'll be meeting up with our University of Chicago crew in Ronald, WA. Should be an adventure.
We promise not to turn this into a baby blog, but please allow us to indulge for a little bit with some photos below!
